"My name is Christy Laffitte and I have spent the last 3 months working at K5 Ranch. I have been going to university for the past three years but still had not really found something that I felt fulfilled by. I had always dreamed of working with horses, but never thought it might be a reality. Coming here has taught me so much about horses- from the most basic thing like catching them in a proper and safe way, to riding a horse I started from the ground up ( with much assistance of course).
Roy is a phenominal trainer, and more importantly, one of the best teachers I have ever had. He is patient, but firm and will always answer any questions you might have (no matter how many and how silly they may seem).
Within a few short lessons with Heather in equitation, the horses began responding more willingly to what I asked of them, because the way I asked made more sense . Heather helped me in really becoming self-aware of what my body was doing and learning how to relax.
These two are such a great teaching team and compliment each other so well in the training and riding aspects all the while making it a fun experience. The weather was really not too much of a factor and the accomodations were great. I definitely hope to be coming back here sometime soon!"
